We are delighted to announce that Artists Studio Company (ASC) has been awarded grant funding by The Mayor of London’s Culture at Risk Business Support Fund and the Creative Land Trust. This fund is intended to help avoid the permanent closure of creative workspaces. We are hugely grateful to the Mayor of London and the Creative Land Trust for their support and for highlighting how valuable the arts are and the significant contribution creatives make to our city and our lives.
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “The devastating impact of COVID-19 means London’s unparalleled culture and creative industries need our support now, more than ever. These artists make a significant contribution to our economy and life in our capital, but they have seen their income diminished by the near total shutdown of their industries. I’m delighted that through our Fund we are helping to ensure that thousands of our talented artists still have a place to work, so that they can play their part in our city’s recovery.”
£1.6m was awarded to 82 workspace providers across 18 London boroughs, supporting more than 11,500 creatives in the capital.
With this support from The Mayor of London’s Culture at Risk Business Support Fund and the Creative Land Trust, ASC has been able to provided financial support to our tenants in severe financial need as a result of the pandemic.
