We provide affordable space to many arts organisations and educational establishments that offer training to over 500 artists every year. In the last five years these organisations have included: Turps Banana Art School, DOPLH projects, Peer Sessions, Zeitgeist Arts and Bainbridge Studios.
In 2018 we aim to launch new initiatives which will include:
Incubator spaces for graduate and start-up arts organisations
Retail opportunities for creative industries and artists
Regular training events for all our tenant artists
In 2016 we launched the ‘ASC Development Fund’, seed funding to support ASC artists and groups who wish to use the ASC Project Spaces for an exhibition or project, which explores the connection between local people, artists and the communities we inhabit. Our aim is that it will help create an on-going legacy between artists and communities the ASC studios reside in, whilst helping to develop artists’ work.
Our Funding and Development team also provide support on funding applications and capacity building.
Inland Project was founded in 2016 by ASC artists Flora Bradwell and Sylwia Narbutt in response to the lack of affordable art space in London. They curate visual arts publications that can be taken apart to become exhibitions, making exhibiting visual art a more affordable and accessible activity.
CORE SAMPLE is an Art and Geology project, in which ASC artist Gail Dickerson has collaborated with people living and working with or around the building developments in the Elephant and Castle area.
