Gracjana Rejmer-Canovas was born in 1984 in Warsaw, Poland. She lives and works in London, England.
She has completed her BA and MA studies in Fine Arts at Academy of Fine Arts in 2003-2008 in Warsaw, Poland and afterwards MFA Painting Degree at Slade School of Fine Art in London in 2009-2011.
Gracjana’s work is based on the representation of her surroundings. Its tone comes from her reflections on the world but she also draws inspiration from trying to reach the depths of emotions, or her personal conclusions. Her work is based on abstract forms- mainly based on color and relation between colors. In her new body of work she is using foam as a dominant material.
She has been shortlisted for John Moores Painting Prize at Walker Gallery, Liverpool, 2018, Aesthetica Magazine Art Prize 2013 and Red Mension Art Prize 2009.
Her work has been exhibited internationally and is included in Paul Smith Collection.
