Bond House Projects | Artlicks Weekend | Backdrop
29/09/2016 - 03/10/2016

The space or context behind an activity, something that holds/contains an activity or object of focus. A backdrop or background can be considered as the area, or scenery, behind an object. Overlapping thematically, the works in this show will engage the backdrop as a context for action, and seek to question the perception of its neutral role. They will touch upon issues of artifce and staging to consider the backdrop as a performative space, a constructed context for artistic action that delineates parameters for engagement.
The opening will take place on Thursday the 29th September, 6-9pm; with new works by Holly Graham, Laszlo Von Dohnanyi, Emma Papworth, Amba Sayal-Bennett and Erin Hughes.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a new collaborative essay by Jon Horrocks and Grace Storey.
The exhibition will be part of the Art Licks Weekend 2016 and will be open from Friday 30th September – Sunday 2nd October, 12-6pm
