we [ breathe ] in the space between | Group show curated by CSM Curating Students | ASC MIR Project Space
November 1 @ 12:00 pm - November 17 @ 6:00 pm
we [ breathe ] in the space between presents new work by 12 emerging artists, including two awardees of this year’s Bloomberg New Contemporaries (Ben Yau and Camille Yvert). Though many are recent graduates, the participating artists have shown globally in venues including K11 and Para Site in Hong Kong; Ullens Centre for Contemporary Art, Beijing; OCAT, Shenzhen; Power Station of Art, Shanghai.
Newly commissioned and site-specific works include an intervention into the earth of the police station’s garden by James Bryant; an outdoor concrete sculpture by Kathryn Graham; and a new photographic series by Queenie Li, exploring the parallels between the Former Rotherhithe Police Station and its colonial antecedent, Taikwun in Hong Kong – also a former police station that has been transformed into an art space.
The following events will take place during the second weekend of the exhibition:
Private view: Thursday 7th November, 6-8pm
Screening of newly-released documentary film The Street: Saturday 9th November, 3pm
Interactive audio-visual performance by artist/graphic designer Flavio Mancini: Sunday 10th November, 4pm
Further information on the full list of artists can be found on our website: https://inthespacebetween.co.uk/artists.
