Let’s dance
Let’s dance
Let’s dance
For fear your grace should fall
Let’s dance
For fear tonight is all
Let’s sway
You could look into my eyes
Let’s sway
Under the moonlight, this
serious moonlight.

Warr’s paper and canvas installation is suggestive of moments both on and off stage from a storybook ballet. Inspired by Nederlands Dans Theater’s ‘Butterfly,(Schmetterling)’, Warr’s figures are waiting, watching, spinning and dancing within her dirtied pallet.
“I saw fragility, beauty, horror, and sincerity in this dark production and seeing it strengthened my resolve to go where I hadn’t gone before.”(Warr).
Julia Warr has shown in New York, Milan, Cologne, Amsterdam, London, Geneva, and Valencia amongst others and recently returned to live in London after nearly a decade in New York. She was recently included in ‘A Fete to Worse than Death’in London for her film ‘SOLO’and at the Aldeburgh Lookout residency in Suffolk in September for performance. She graduated in 1999 from Goldsmiths College (BA, Visual Art) in London with the Wardens Prize.
