Artist/Maker Resources

Jobs | Administrative Assistant

Hours: 21 – 35 hrs per week (3-5 days, depending on experience)
Salary: £22,000 (pro rata)
Type: Permanent (subject to 6 month trial period)

Artists Studio Company (ASC) is a London based registered arts charity and one of the largest affordable workspace providers to artists and makers in Greater London. We support over 800 creative tenants within 8 buildings across 6 London Boroughs and manage a varied and exciting calendar of art exhibitions and events.

ASC is currently looking for an experienced administrator to join our workspace lettings department, supporting the processing of new tenants, vacating tenants and general administration. Largely office based, duties will include updating and maintaining tenant details on our databases, processing outgoing tenants including contacting tenants for missing details, filing and organising lease agreements and related documents for all new tenants and vacating tenants – both electronic and paper versions, and general admin as needed. You may on occasion be asked to support other departments.

You will also provide front of house support at our small main office with adjoined gallery, responding to enquiries from tenants and the public by email and on the phone and greeting visitors in a warm and friendly manner.

You may at times be asked to host viewings of the workspaces for prospective tenants at busy times.

A proven track record in a similar administrative role, ideally in an arts organisation. You will be motivated, organised and proactive, with good attention to detail and with the ability to use your own initiative where necessary. Good time management is essential.

We are a small team and so the ability to work with others, but also independently is important.  A friendly and confident demeanour and the ability to communicate with others warmly, calmly and professionally is essential.

We are a small, very friendly creative team mainly from arts backgrounds. A good understanding of the arts sector and genuine enthusiasm for the arts is important, as is a willingness to attend private views in our art gallery.

We encourage you to take a look on our website and Instagram to learn more about what we do.

With a commitment that our workforce reflects the diversity of the community we support, we particularly welcome applications from individuals who are ethnically diverse, disabled, LGBTQI and from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

Send a CV and short cover letter (no more than 1 A4) letting us know how your skills and experience make you ideal for the role.
