Open Call: Brent Creative Enterprise Programme

TRACING BRENT: ART EXHIBITION
Mapping Place, Time, and Memory

Are you a Brent resident and an artist, writer, or maker? We invite submissions for a group exhibition developed as part of the Brent Creative Enterprise Zone programme, showcasing local artists at different stages of practice.

Tracing Brent explores how memory, energy, and time shape our understanding of place — and how certain stories are preserved, while others are erased. The exhibition brings together works that reflect on lived experience in Brent, examining how histories persist, transform, and resurface within everyday life.

The exhibition seeks work engaging with one or more of the following themes:

Energy and Memory

How personal, collective, or inherited experiences leave traces across bodies, spaces, and generations.

Nonlinear Time and Continuity

How time is experienced beyond linear narratives — including cycles, repetitions, interruptions, and change.

Place and Power

How ideas of the “local,” culture, and belonging are shaped by wider social, historical, and global forces.

Artists are welcome to submit existing works or propose new pieces responding to these themes. Full submission details and eligibility criteria are available via the FAQ page, or by contacting: marco.ferrara.artist@gmail.com

This exhibition is curated by locally based curators and artists Simmi Dullay and Marco Ferrara, and is funded by Brent Council and ERA CEZ, with support from ASC Studios.
