In the story of the Tower of Babel, humanity once shared a single language, until its people were given different tongues and could no longer understand one another. Bringing together the nineteen artists of ‘Changeable Beast’, Babel Babble takes this myth as a starting point to explore the different languages of sculpture.

Every artist has their own way of making and communicating through objects, materials and forms. But what happens when these individual languages come together in the same space? Can they speak to one another? What connections, similarities or tensions emerge between them?

Babel Babble invites us to look closely, listen carefully and consider how meaning shifts when different artistic voices share the same space. Together, do these voices create a cacophony, a conversation – or perhaps a symphony?

Saturday 10 October  3pm-4:30pm – Artist & curator talk with guest Sally Spurring (Speech & Language Therapist)

6:30pm-7:30pm – Sculptural Soundbath with practitioner Bella Verrrico (for tickets contact changeablebeast@gmail.com)

Sunday 11 October 2pm-4pm – Word Feast an exploration of the exhibition through artists’ mother tongue followed by a sharing of the language of food. Guest artist Ana Genoves. Performance by Chuting Lee.

All welcome to the preview on 8 October, 6pm-9pm and events over the weekend (unless ticketed).
