Exhibition Highlight: Foredawn by Vladimir Logutov
Following his previous series Fire Run and Fireline, artist Vladimir Logutov recently unveiled a compelling new direction in his practice right here in our studios with his solo presentation, Foredawn.
At the core of the exhibition is an ambitious large-scale painting accompanied by a delicate series of works on paper. Together, the works explore the liminal space between night and morning, a quiet threshold where darkness ceases to conceal and instead transforms the way we look.

“Visibility has almost disappeared, and it is here that the eye begins to work more precisely. Night is still present, but it is no longer final. Darkness does not close the space; it makes perception work differently, attuning it to minimal changes, shifts of grey, the difference between black and dark grey, and the faint movement of light.”
Throughout Foredawn, imagery resists immediate reveal. Forms emerge only through sustained attention, surfacing from subtle, near-monochromatic gradations and the patient act of viewing. Held between shadow and the anticipation of daybreak, the work captures a palpable sense of threshold: an image of night where form remains partially veiled, yet entirely charged with the expectation of first light.
