Bethe Bronson

Originally from the US, Bronson lives and works in London, having earned an MA in Fine Art from Wimbledon College of Arts, UAL. As a mixed-media artist, her work references processes and concepts associated with photography such as presence, absence, and the passage of time.

Select venues and exhibitions in which Bronson has exhibited include: ARB, Cambridge University, The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Filter4 Basel, Orleans House, Art Dubai, The Dissenter’s Crypt: Kensal Green Cemetery, Moving Image South at HMV Curzon, The Photographer’s Gallery, Kettles Yard, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, and The Baltimore Museum of Art.

Current work has evolved out of experimenting with various alternative photographic processes, be it moving or still, digital or analogue.

Her most recent exhibition, ‘Apropos of an Insomniac’s Dreams’ is a mixed-media installation resulting from attempts to elucidate the artist’s thoughts while in the midst of an insomniac haze. She has employed diverse media ranging from video, prints, and Chemigrams (an alternative photographic camera-less technique), to embroidery, textiles, and hand crafted pillows.
