Four artists that work in print from Bainbridge Print Studio were invited to exhibit in the ASC Cube, to demonstrate the diversity of work produced in our print studio.

Usva Inei

Usva Inei is a trans non-binary visual artist and art educator. Working from their lived experiences as a queer Russian immigrant, Usva currently explores themes of misuse of power, suppression of freedom of speech, and generational trauma. Usva works through experimental printmaking, mixed media installations, and interactive theatre.

Jonathan Armstrong

Jonathan’s print, ‘Silence Ensures that History Repeats Itself’, references the British colonial empire suppressing the Kenyan uprising of 1952-60 and images of the ‘Black Power‘ movement following the 1965 assassination of Malcolm X, whose aim was to achieve self-determination for black people in the USA. Lesley Syme

Lesley’s work is inspired by the environment around her, finding beauty in simple botanical structures and forms, as here in the delicately feathered fronds of the tree fern. Working directly with the plants themselves each print is a unique and perfect impression of the frond form. Tree ferns originally found their way to the UK in the late 19th Century. Ships returning from Australia used the trunks as ballast in their holds to prevent cargoes moving about in heavy seas. 

Estefania Araujo Bianchi

Estefania Araujo Bianchi is a visual artist from Buenos Aires who currently resides in London. In 2014, she graduated with a MA in Printmaking from the University of the Arts London. Her practice incorporates collage, photography, printmaking and textiles. Estefania currently works with collage, photography, co-curating Sanford Vitrine, and also teaches printmaking and collage. 

Bainbridge Print Studio 

Bainbridge Print has two studios, here at Croydon (Grafton Road) and Vauxhall (Handbag Factory, Loughborough St) where we offer open access print facilities, desk spaces and workshops in Screenprint (fabric and paper), Etching, Photopolymer, Lino and Cyanotype.
